Mentorship Policy
How mentors are approved, what mentorship is and is not, and the boundaries that apply.
Mentor status is granted by On The Beat MD after review. It is never self-assigned. Mentorship features remain inactive until screening and legal review are complete.
Approval, not self-designation
Every mentor applies. Applications move through submitted, under review, verification, screening, approved, declined, suspended, and renewal.
No one can mark themselves a mentor, and no role grants mentor access automatically.
Boundaries
Mentorship is career guidance. It is not clinical supervision, legal counsel, financial advice, therapy, or employment.
Mentors must not solicit business, request payment, or move a mentee off-platform.
Working with members under 18
Contact with a member under 18 requires guardian linkage and recorded consent, and takes place only through the platform's protected channels.
Private off-platform contact with a minor is prohibited and is grounds for immediate removal.
