Who owns the writing, episodes, frameworks, and downloads on On The Beat MD, and what you may and may not do with them.

Working draft. This document is awaiting legal, privacy, and safeguarding review. It is not yet binding and may change substantially before launch.

Everything published on On The Beat MD - articles, briefs, episodes, scripts, frameworks, worksheets, downloadable toolkits, artwork, and the design of this platform - is original work owned by On The Beat MD and Priya D. Vejayan, MD, or used under licence. Copyright exists automatically from the moment each piece is created; this page states plainly how it may be used.

What you may do

Read, listen to, and share links to anything on this platform. Linking is always welcome.

Quote short excerpts - a sentence or two - for commentary, teaching, or reporting, with clear credit to On The Beat MD and a link back to the original page.

Download the resource-library toolkits and use them personally, or inside your own residency programme, department, or class, for non-commercial teaching, with the credit line left intact.

What requires written permission

Republishing an article, brief, transcript, or episode in full or in substantial part, anywhere, including newsletters and other websites.

Selling, licensing, or bundling any of this material into a paid course, membership, coaching programme, or product.

Rebranding a worksheet, framework, or toolkit as your own, or removing the On The Beat MD attribution from it.

Using On The Beat MD content, name, or artwork to train, fine-tune, or ground a commercial AI model or dataset.

Using the On The Beat MD name, wordmark, or visual identity in a way that implies endorsement, partnership, or authorship.

Permission requests

Permission is often granted, and usually quickly, for teaching and non-commercial use. Write to us through the contact page with the specific piece, where it will appear, and how it will be credited.

Guests and contributors keep ownership of their own words and materials and grant On The Beat MD the licence needed to publish them. Requests to reuse a guest's material are passed to that guest.

If your work appears here

We attribute every source we draw on. If you believe material of yours has been used without proper credit or permission, tell us through the contact page with a link to the page in question and to your original, and we will correct or remove it promptly.

If our work appears elsewhere

Unauthorised copies are handled first with a direct request to credit or remove, and then, where necessary, through a formal takedown notice to the host platform.

Publication dates, drafts, and the corrections log on this platform establish a clear record of first publication.
